The Best Place to Visit in Italy

Don interviews Loris about the places he recommends travelers visit in his homeland, Italy. Although he’s from Rome, Loris suggests getting away from the tourists and checking out the islands of Italy, in particular, Sicily. This is a beautiful region with its own traditions and special cuisine, including delicious pastries and “granita siciliana”, a refreshing lemon treat perfect for the warm southern weather. Enjoy!

A great place to visit in China

Don interviews Yoh about his favorite place in China. Funny enough, it turns out to be his home province, Sichuan! Yoh praises the food (it's not all hot) and exciting places to see, including the largest seated Buddha in the world!
If you are heading to China and hope to go where other tourists do not, check out this video - and think about learning some Chinese on Sulantra!

And, if you are a REAL foodie, check out this hour-long video for a great in-depth report on Sichuan cuisine. Yummy!! Even the locals are giving it rave reviews!

Bad Souvenirs From Japan

The Sulantra gang gives their ideas about what NOT to give as a present from Japan. Japanese love to travel and to give gifts, many of which are a poor choice. Heavy, breakable, expensive -- this video is based on firsthand experience! Everyone speaks in Japanese but, even if you don't understand, we think you'll get the message. Enjoy!

Haida Necktie

Hi everyone! We just finished filming a Sulantra video about souvenirs from Japan. Entertaining and “exotic” – including a wild necktie that Don was wearing during the shoot. It's a Haida pattern from the west coast of Canada. Enjoy this Canuck content!

How to use Sulantra – Super Language Training!

Don explains how to get the most out of Sulantra, our exciting new language learning website. Sulantra courses are structured in a giant spiral that automatically recycles language making it easier to remember. When you learn with Sulantra, you should:

  1. study in short, frequent sessions (Once a week blitzes don’t work.)
  2. keep sessions to a maximum of 90 minutes (Any longer and your brain runs out of steam.)
  3. stay silent for the first two course levels (Gives you time to “pick up” the sounds of the language. Your accent will be more natural when you do finally speak.)
  4. keep moving (Don’t get hung up in one section. The language is recycled many times.)
  5. use the icons to get repetition, slower speed, meaning and more. (The key phrases included in each icon will help you manage your conversations in the real world!)
